What will I need?

  • 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil.
  • 7-8 large white onions
  • Water.
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 2 Tbsp. Dry onion soup mix.
  • Salt and pepper to your liking
  • Heavy cream (optional).
  • You can melt any yellow cheese you choose.

How do I make it?

  • You’ll first need to cut and brown all the onions. Simply heat the oil in a pan, then add the onions to it. Let them cook on a low heat for about 40 minutes. To prevent them from burning, make sure you keep them stirring every once in a while. We want brown, not black.
  • After the onions have been boiled, place them in a large saucepan with a heavy bottom. Fill it about 3/4 of the way with water. Turn the heat to low.
